Originally posted by montyp80 View Posthey Vishal, thanks for your insight. I asked few lawyers and they were of the same opinion. Except that i will not be able to work if i enter again on B1/B2 as i will be in violation of my status. I can only work in US if i enter on H1 visa.
Did you talk to your employer or are you consulting any lawyer to help you cut down the wait period by submitting additional documents on Lawyer's suggestion? Or are you just waiting to hear back from embassy? Please share your experience.
Thanks
Monty
@montyp80
I dont think there is any possible way to cut down the wait time. My case is as follows:
Interview date: 20th December 2011 (received 221g blue)
Docs submission: 2nd January 2012 (employer send the docs by courier)
Consulate received docs: 6th Jan 2012
First time H1 stamping, visiting India after 4 years.
4 Employer related docs asked. So its been about 48 days and counting since the consulate got my docs. The wait n watch game is on.

They asked a hell lot of papers from me. Almost everything listed on 221g form. I don't know what they are upto. Its crazy the way they take so much of time to evaluate things. Specially after the extension is already been approved which is in fact as good as visa stamping considering the paperwork you need to submit for extension.
Anyway, lets hope for the best. Keep posting the updates and i will do the same.
Good luck

What is model ? End client - Vendor - Employer or End Client - Employer?
What documents you submitted?
Have you ever emailed them to check the status?

They pretty much asked all the documents listed on 221g blue form. both for me and my employer.
I did call VFS once to check the status. But there was no information but a standard reply. 'Admin processing'. So i guess there is no point emailing or calling them. All they will tell you is to keep checking 'case status' on consulate website.
I still won't get too hopeful till i get the passport back with visa. I will keep everyone posted here.

Originally posted by maulikmehta123 View Post@Vishal416 Hi ... Any updates from VFS? I believe ur office directly mailed the docs right? Dude I would suggest you please double check with the VFS. I Personally went to the VFS on 23rd Feb to submit the docs in person. I asked the official there if they have previously received any docs from my office. They again said that we dont accept couriers .. if ur office/Lawyer might have send us something.. we send it back.. We need someone in person. I believe I will have to wait 2 months from Feb 23 to get done with this.. Please double check or else u will just waste ur time.

no news yet. I complete 4 months in India and 6 weeks since submission of docs. I have been patient throughout, but my employer is slowly beginning to loose it. I wonder what will happen next. I hate to say this, but these guys are ruining careers here.
