H1 blue slip from Mumbai with comments

Hi I got 221g on 20th Dec at Mumbai Consulate. I submitted documents on 23Dec at Ahm-VFS. After that, i haven't heard back from US Consulate. Does anybody know how much processing they will take?

When we type our passport number on VFS Track your passport page a message saying "It is under processing or Whatever" comes up. Thats what he meant. Correct me if I am wrong.

Yup that is correct.

I was just wondering if by mistake I miss the mail then whether the VFS web site show a different status - like - "You can now submit your passport" or something like that.

1) Employer tax for 2yrs
2) All employee info : start date , end date , salary , project
3) Job description
4) Internal Project working on (analysis ,marketing , etc)

Waiting for the email since 20th Dec 2011.

Attorney emailed to VFS Mumbai on 11 Jan 2012 . Got reply back to attorney on 13 Jan 2012 that case is still under process !

What do you think guys when will I get a reply ?

Mine was a first time stamping case for H1b.

I wasn't able to see my case status except that mumbai consulate site which shos the list of CEAC barcode numbers and I didn't see that even when I got the email.


I recieved my passport back on 18th January, just for update.

Mine is also E-C model.
From petitioner side they asked me:-
1.Copy of petition...
2.Letter of Vacancy
3.Client letter and contract agreement.

From Applicant side:-
1.Certified copies of academic credentials.
2.pay slips and bank statements during OPT.

What documents they asked you to submit.

H1 Stamping - asked to sign a document

Visa Interview: Dec 12th
Issued blue 221g requesting almost all documents from employer and my tax returns, pay slips and bank statements
Document submitted: Jan 10
Received email asking to visit consulate: Jan 17
Went to Consulate on Jan 19

I was again asked same questions - client location, work location, manager location, who supervises the work and how frequently. It seems they are confirming Employee-Employer relationship.

The VO then typed everything that I said and printed on a page and asked me to sign. On asking, why this is required she said that the person who took my first interview will review the documents based on my answers and will get back to me in couple of weeks. She returned my passport and gave me yellow slip and wrote "Admin Processing" on it.

My background - I work remotely from California, my client is in Ohio and my manager in NJ. My LCA location is my home address(CA).

Questions -

1. Has any one signed a document like the one I mentioned?
2. What could be purpose of this?
3. Can I work from India ? My client is fine with me working from India. But, my employer is american company with no office in India?

Received email yesterday to submit passport and pending letter.

When I visited the VFS they asked me to submit a copy of approved I797 as well .
I was surprised as this was not mentioned in the email. VFS personnel said the consulate has asked for it.
They did not take the copy of pending letter.

Keeping my fingers crossed to receive passport with stamped visa. Do let me know if anybody had a similiar experience.
