Any information would be much appreciated friends... This seems to be most active thread and wanted to know if anyone else is in same situation...

22 working days , still no answer !

Doc's submitted on 20 Dec 2011 (ahmd).
Visa Interview : 6th Dec 2011.

Direct employment

First time H1B

Question's asked :
1) How many employees ?
2) Company tax doc for 2 yrs.
3) Compnay pictures.
4) All the petition document.
5) Project working on and details.

It's been already 19 working days after submission of documents..
Haven't received any reply from US consulate yet..
Why Consulate taking long time to process our Visa???
Has anyone recently submitted passport to VFS office after clearing the 221G at Mumbai consulate....

Submitted my passport on 19th Jan after getting 221g. Docs were submitted on 27th Dec.

After repeated queries (thru emails) to the vfs, they responded back asking for my bar code number. After providing the bar code they dint get back for another 2 3 days....so mailed them again........got a reply -

Dear Sir/Ma'am,

Thank you for writing to us.

We are in receipt of your below email, the same will be checked with the U.S Consulate. You will receive a reply once we get the information from the Consulate.

Not sure what this means.

This their standard reply (its not from US Consulate) from VFS helpline.
They too dont get much details from consulate.
the final email will come from [email protected]

Good luck. I am too waiting for long time. Did extra submission of same documents. Praying god to get through this phase.

Just called DOS to know the status..
They said it's still pending..

What is dos? Are you calling some USNumber? If yes,, how they refer your case?
Did they give any more details?

DOS is department of states..
Call them at 202-663-1225
Press "1" then "0".
You just need to tell them your passport no. to know the status.

I hope everyone is hanging in there.
Here are my details. I'll post updates as they arrive. Patience is all I have right now.

Embassy: Mumbai
Interview: 2nd December 2011
Submitted Docs on: 19 January 2012 (yeah, it took a long time for my employer to get back with the needed documents)

But in the meantime, I was able to get a new passport made since my old one was damaged according to the embassy.

Mine is a direct employment at a startup. They only have 3 employees as of now, all of them US citizens. Also, I got my masters last year from an Ivy league university (hoping this will help!)

On the day of the interview, I saw visa being rejected for some really silly reasons. For example: I saw a lady being refused a H1 dependent visa because she couldn't show a wedding photo for her and her husband around the fire (the 7 rounds ceremony). They asked her to submit the photo for the same. Seriously, are you kidding me?

Asked to sign a document

Visa Interview: Dec 12th
Issued blue 221g requesting almost all documents from employer and my tax returns, pay slips and bank statements
Document submitted: Jan 10
Received email on Jan 17 asking to visit consulate
2nd Interview/visit: Jan 19
Was asked the same questions again, client location, work location, manager location, how manager assigns and reviews the work. No documents asked.
After answering the questions, she typed on a piece of paper and asked me to sign it.

On asking why this is required, she told that the officer who took my first interview will review my case based on the details that I provided her. Not sure if they have started some new process.
