DS160 - Spelling mistake in Place of Birth in passport

There is a spelling mistake in the state of birth where i have born in my passport.

Instead of KARNATAKA it is mentioned as KARANATAKA.

My H1B petition got approved few time back.

1. I need to know whether this would create problem while I go for stamping?

2. If there is no issues, Which name should i mention in DS160? KARNATAKA or KARANATAKA?

I don't think it will be a problem for the visa interview. However, it is advisable to get the passort corrected. In DS-160 enter the correct spelling. Check with VFS helpdesk to see whether it is okay to attend the interview before correcting the passport.
