  • H1b Extension

Have a general Question regarding H1B Extension.

I have an H1b which will be expiring in Jan 2012 ( was filed last year, but got a period allocation of only 1 year). My employer will extend the visa for a period of 2 more years.
My Question ( a little silly ) is that if I travel outside the US after my visa expires (ie : after Jan), do I need to get the visa stamped all over again before I can enter the states ?

    Thanks in anticipation

If extension of status is approved with a new I-94, you can live and work in the US until that date.
Whenever your leave the US and want to return, you will need a valid Visa in your passport, so if the current one has expired at that time, you will have to apply.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
