H1 221g slip issued @ Delhi consulate

Hi

I have been working in US for past 1 year and came to India in October for my visa stamping.
At my interview on 24 Oct, i had answered all questions to the counseller but the counseller gave me a 221g slip and asked me to submit all the documents.
I submitted all the documents mentioned in the 221g with my passport to the counseller on the spot.
The officer told me that the visa is not yet granted and this would need to be reviewed first.
I got in touch with the vfs helpline after 2 weeks of interview, where the call center guys asked me to submit all the documents again at the vfs, although i didnt get any intimation or email from embassy directly.
So i submitted all the documents again to the vfs office.
Till date, its almost 2 months and i dont have any clue as to how much more time will the processing take?
Neither me nor my employer has recieved anything from the embassy yet... My client is asking for my visa status time to time and i dont have any answer to give them.

Is there a way i or my employer can approach the embassy directly and know as to how much more time would it take?
Is it usually the case , that the embassy keeps the documents on review and dont reply back any status.......
If i track my passport from vfs site it shows me. " your passport is with embassy for processing" and it has been showing the same from last one n half months.

Any suggestions to keep my spirit up?

>>> Unfortunately No. Your only contact is VFS and you will keep getting the standard response.

>>> The process takes it own course of time. You will not get any proper response until the admin process gets completed. Search and read the posts on 221g and admin processing.

>>> Yes, that is the only status you will see until the admin process gets completed. They are all case by case basis. Some gets approved within 2 weeks and some take even a year. No one can predict.

4 months now...still waiting

I am pretty disappointed with the way things are going.
Its 4 months now and i havnt got any updates about my passport and visa.

My question would be why is there no contact from embassy till date to me or my employer or my client. If they are doing any processing then they should be contacting any one of the above.

On the day i appeared for the interview, the counseller told to submit all the required documents then and there itself with passport and didnt tell me to submit them again.

Since i didnt get any email, phone or sms for a long time, i decided to reach the vfs.
vfs told me that your case is on hold since i need to resubmit my documents again.


Ok, fine...i resubmitted my docs again. Then after a few weeks i didnt get any reply. It was almost 2 months now, so i decided to contact the VFS again.
They told me that my case is on hold since i need to submit the DHS cover letter.

I didnt know what DHS cover letter is so i asked my attorney to submit that. and it was submitted to vfs.

Now why the hell is that i have to ask again and again to vfs, if they need any documents then why isnt there a direct contact to me or my employer?
Even though all the documents were submitted and i was told not to submit them again.


And now its 4 months. I emailed VFS last week to know my status, and now it seems even the VFS has started ignoring my emails.

Can someone tell me if there is a direct channel to know what is happening to my case and if my attorney can do something to know my status. do we need to contact DOS or someone.

Hi,

it seems we both are in same boat.

I had an interview on 29th November, Visa Lady halt my passport and gave me 221g green receipt asked to submit all documents. she mentioned same thing as you got " your case has to be review again " . I submitted all documents next second day.

After couple of weeks, I contacted VFS, ND and they came back to me on next day asking for documents again so I went to the VFS center, Ahmedabad where I submitted documents first time. They told me to send an email to VFS, ND with scanned receipt of VFS, Ahmedabad. Six weeks later I called DOS, they said my case is under administrative processing and told me to contact them again within a week which i did but no help, same answer as before.

After 10 weeks, I got an e-mail from VFS, ND said I have to submit the all client letter. unfortunately, i work for direct employer so i got the letter from my employer stating that i don't work for any client. And I submitted yesterday. Let's see now how long they will take ?

US Consulate, New Delhi is really sucks for stamping !
