Hello,

My petetion for H1b was approved in 2008 which was valid until Sep'2011. I've been to the Chennai consulate in Aug'2011 and received a 221(g) to submit either an internal project/client letter within 1 year. I'm about to get my client letter shortly. Now that the validity of the petetion was active until Sep'2011, will it work out if I submit the client letter along with other requied documents NOW? Will it be valid? Please advise.

No. The petition has already expired and they cannot issue you a visa on an expired petition. You need to get the petition renewed and submit both the renewed petition and the client letter.
