Can i go to Chennai Consulate

Hi,

I am from Hyderabad and heard lot issues with hyd consulate so can i schedule my H4 visa interview in chennai. Will there be any issues if I do so?

Can I go to Chennai for H1 Visa

Mine is a similar situation, but in my approval emai, I see that the "Consulate Notified" section was mentioned as "Chennai". I am a resident of Hyderabad. Do I have to go to Chennai in specific because of this or can I go to Hyderabad instead?

You can go to Hyderabad. Check with VFS helpdesk at Hyderabad.

Thanks Shervin!! But I don't see any availability for Hyderabad till 13th Jan. I guess, I'll have to go to Chennai. I have emailed VFS and they mentioned that I'll have to go to the jurisdiction of my place of residence which is Hyderabad.

Does that mean, I am not eligible to go to Chennai, even it my approval states so?

These things don't exist anymore. You are allowed to take the visa appointment at any U.S consulate in India. Talk to VFS helpdesk at Chennai and you will get a different response.
