  • H4 Advance documents submission

    Hello Everyone,

I have my visa appointment on 4th January at Hyderabad consulate. Unfortunately I forgot to submit the documents in advance at the vfs office.

Is it fine if I go to the consulate directly for my visa interview without submitting the documents ?
Is it fine if I submit my documents tomorrow and then attend the interview day after tomorrow?

    Please reply asap.

    Thanks in Advance,

    Divya.

Also my spouse left to US so I do not have his original I-797. And since its not been a month yet that he has moved to US there are no pay stubs etc.

Is it fine if we carry a copy of I-797 of principal applicant for H4 visa even if we do not have the original?

Talk to VFS helpdesk at Hyderabad to see if they will let you attend the visa interview with submitting the documents in advance.

Advisable to carry the original approval notice of the principle applicant. Check the below link.

          Hi Shervin,

I attended my visa interview today. One of the consular officers after knowing that I did not submit my documents in advance to the VFS gave me a letter that stated that i come back on 9th for my interview.

When i asked if I should submit the documents at VFS she said it is not required and I can directly walk into the consulate but get the letter she provided along with me when i go on 9th.

Does this usually happen? I am still not sure whether I should or should not submit my documents.

I have never heard of any such experience before. Follow what the VO asked you to do. Most probably you will be meeting the same VO on the 9th. Also talk to VFS helpdesk and see what they have to say.
