Dear Experts,

Could some one please let me know if there is any email or phone number to contact the Chennai Consulate directly rather than contacting VFS as its of no use?

Also kindly let me know if we can request for the passports while its in process(PIMS Verification) and submit when they get the clearance from PIMS database as its taking ages to get the passports?

You certainly can. Just write a letter to the consulate asking for the passport. Mention that you will submit it once PIMS gets cleared. PIMS usually will not take more than a couple or weeks.
