Hi Everyone,

I think you guys will help me out. I attended H1 Visa interview in London on 14 December. I was handled a 221 g form there. I am still waiting for an email from the consulate regarding the issue. The main problem is that my visa in U.K has expired and I have returned back to India. If at all the consulate asks me to send me the required documents and passport, can I send it from here? Or do I need to visit any consulate here in India regarding the case?

Well, if the 221g gets cleared successfully, then you can send the passport to your freinds or relatives there who can send it to the consulate and later collect it and send it back to you. However, it is not advisable to courier the passport overseas.

But do you think there is any other alternate solution to this as I see from many forums that sending a passport overseas is illegal?

Yes, it is. Either you have to go in person and handover the passport or withdraw the visa application and apply again in your home country.
