H1 B Transfer with Receipt Number

Hi, Thanks in advance for your help! I need below queries to be answered in order to take decision on my job change.

I had H1 B with current employer and was going to expire on 20-Nov-11. My employer filed an extension and I got the receipt number on 3-Oct-11. Recently I got an offer with another employer which I am willing to join.

Can my H1 B transfer be initiated with the receipt number?
If initiated, When can I start working with the new employer? after I got the receipt number or approved with new I-94?
Once the transfer has been initiated, Will my current employer be able to cancel my H1 since it it in initial review?

I'd appreciate if could answer the above questions.

>>> Possible. Search and read the posts on 'bridging'. In your case since your I-94 has already expired, if the extension gets denied or withdrawn, your transfer will be either rejected or will get approved for consular process.

If initiated, When can I start working with the new employer? after I got the receipt number or approved with new I-94?
>>> It is advisable to join the new employer only after the H1B extension & transfer gets approved. If you join the new employer with just the receipt notice and your current employer revokes the extension, then the transfer will not go through as the bridge will break.
