H1 and H4 Stamping in Mumbai

Hello,
My visa status changed from F1 to H1 in Nov and now would be travelling to India on a business trip in last week of Feb. My wife (earlier F2 now H4) will be travelling with me as well. I have couple of questions to get started.

1) I know I need to pay fees for both of us at HDFC, once the both the receipts are active do I have to book two separate interview slots or can we give the joint visa interview? If I can give a joint interview what is the procedure of selecting the option of joint interview?

You can take the interview together. While filling the online visa application, select "Family Option" and you will be able to add your dependents to your visa application and book a single interview slot. You will be asked to fill separate DS160 for each of your dependents.
