Visa expiry

My H1b visa stamp is valid till May 5 2012 and I 797 till August 2012 .
Can I go to India and return to US by April 22 ,Just 12 days prior to my visa stamp expiration date ?Will they ask me the reason for not going for stamping at POE ?

Yes. You can re-enter as long as the H1B visa and the petition remains valid.

Make sure the I-94 you get at POE is according to the petition expiry and not Visa expiry.
