Do H1B company transfer require similar job profile?

Hello Members,

I am in F1-OPT status and my employer is ready to file H1B this April 2012. I am interested in joining the company to learn new technology. After one year, say, I want to work in a different domain or technology or role, will that be a problem? Some sample situations:

Change of Technology/ Domain : IT to Manufacturing Operations
Change of role: Functional Consultant to Engineering Manager

Will such drastic changes create problems for H1B transfer? Your inputs will be highly valued.

No issues as long as your have the skill set, qualification & experience. Just make sure you don't join the new employer just on the receipt notice. To be safer, join them only after a successful transfer.
