  • Immediate GC filing by the new employer

I am thinking of changing my employer as I need my GC to be filed. They say that they will take some time, may be a couple of months to file. The reason that they gave when I asked for immediate GC filing was that if they file it immediately there are more chances of rejection as you have not stayed with the new company for long. Is that right?

No. GC is for future employment. You don't even need to be employed with the company to start the GC process at the first place.
However, I can understand the employer view. They don't want to invest money into your GC process without knowing how capable you are. That might take few months to figure out for any employer. That could be the primary reason.
