H1B transfer

I hold a H1B visa and I'm employed by Company A, but have been told my employment will cease 30th April. I'm now looking for a new employer but am concerned if I cannot find a new job before my finish date with Company A what are my options? How long can I stay in the US seeking work.? Can I advise I wish to transfer my H1B even though I don't have employment yet? Can I leave , then re-enter the US in May without an employer?

How long can I stay in the US seeking work.?
>>> If you cannot file the H1B transfer before the last day on your current job (application should reach USCIS before the last date) and if you cannot file a COS to H4 or L2 (that is if your spouse is in H1B or L1 status), then you have to leave U.S to avoid accumulating out of status on H1B.

>> You cannot re-enter without a job in hand. You will be deported back to your home country and banned from entering U.S in the future if you try to commit fraud.
