New H1B petition approved with 1 year validity

Hi All,

My new H1B petition is approved and validity is given only for one year (Feb 2013),despite my employer submitted all docs related work engagement for 3 years.

Please guide me
1.any specific reasons behind getting this 1 year validity.( Since I provided the work contract and End client letter mentioned for 3 years)
2.Is this normal case or something rarely happen?
3.Can I able to do anything for extending the validity

Its normal now a days. USCIS is trying to get the fund each time you apply for extension. However, you may check with your company lawyer.

It depends on the documents that the employer submits. You can keep applying extension until you reach the max 6 year limit on the H1B CAP.
