H4->H1 2013 quota, When can I start working?

Hi,
Thanks for everyone for your time and answering my questions.
At present I am on H4 visa and thinking to apply for H1 visa,

If approved H1 visa (Assume in May 2012 approved) in this quota, when can I start working?
Do I need start working immediately or Can I start working from Oct 1st?
Can I start working when ever I wish say some time Nov 2012?

>>> As of the H1B effective date that will be mentioned in the approval notice. If filed under a new CAP, it will be on or after Oct 1st.

>>> You cannot start working before the H1B effective date. A new CAP will be effective on or after Oct 1st.

>>> No. You should start working as of the H1B effective date. If you don't, you will go out of status on H1B. Check the below links.
