Experience letter for GC

My ex-employer is not giving me any experience letter. i have heard that i can get an affidavit from a co-worker. I know 1 person who is also an ex employee of that company.
But I was working with that company from oct 2008 till June 2010 and that person was working from january 2010 till oct 2010. Can I get the letter from that person though he was not an employee of that company for the same tenure/ time period as me.

No. There are cases where USCIS has rejected those letters. It is advisable that you find someone who has been employed with the same employer during the same period as you.
