H1b after L1b expiry

Hi,
My l1b visa is expiring in sept 2012. Iam planning to apply for a fresh H1b this year so i can come back in october (2012)
Can i apply for H1 ffor the coming lot or should i be outside the country for any period of time before i can apply for new H1
Can i apply H1 with a seperate company

>>> Well, if you are currently in U.S and if you are planning to be in U.S until the end if Sept 2012 in L1 status (meaning, your L1 is valid until the end of Sept), then you can even file the H1B as a COS from L1. That way, you can start working in H1B status starting Oct 1st without the need to leave the country and return back in H1B visa.
