  • Travelling to India via. London with expired H1

    Hi,

My H1-B Visa and current I-94 card has expired and I need to travel to India via London to get stamping done. My new I-797 approval is with me (which has the updated i-94 card attached with extension).

I also have a valid B-1 Visa on my old passport which is valid until 2015.

I was reading online blogs and they suggest that when travelling to India via. UK you don't need a UK transit visa if you have a valid US Visa. Can I use my B1 visa on my old passport for transit through London?

    Thanks

Yes. You don't need a U.K transit visa if you have ANY valid U.S visa stamped in the passport. However, it is advisable to check with the airlines and get a confirmation. You can also email the U.K consulate and carry their response just to be in the safer side.
Not a legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.

Thanks shervin143. I will send an email to UK Consulate. Whenever I get a response from them, I will post it on the forum for others in the same situation.

        Hello Vickie,

I am in the same situation as yours, I have a valid B1/B2 but my work visa stamping expired. What was UK consulate advice in your case. I will appreciate your help.

        Thanks
