  • Why employers are shying away from sponsoring H1B visa

    Hello Friends,

Why is it that employers in US are shying away from sponsoring H1B visa for candidates outside US ?
I came up with this question because there are hundreds of jobs in US market relevant to my skill sets and I have very strong credentials as well.
But as soon as the employer learns that I am located outside US, he refuses to entertain further.

What are the things employers are worried about and how can I help them (or myself) to get a H1 visa ?

    \\Best Regards

Because these days H1B petitions costs a lot and there is no guarantee that the candidate will actually to U.S to work for the employer so that they can earn back the money that was invested. Even if petition gets approved, then chances of H1B stamped is less especially on candidates who appear from consulting companies as the employer will not be able to get a project and provide the client letter when the candidate is outside U.S. Even if both petition and visa gets approved, there are candidates who doesn't want to travel or will join a different employer. The risk of sponsoring a candidate outside U.S is high. Also, the employer has to bear additional cost like visa, air tickets, initial stay etc for people from outside U.S.

But still, there are good employers who understands all this and still sponsor H1B for eligible candidates. If not, none of the consulting companies can survive. You just need to find those employers. Search in dice.com and monster.com.
