Passport expiration and visa renewal

I have around 2 yrs more for my L1 visa but my current passport is expiring in 1 yrs and 3 months,.
Does that mean I will get the visa and petition approved only till my passport expiry date ?

Do you hold an Indian passport? If yes, the passport cannnot be renewed more than 1 year from the expiry date and the consulates are well aware of this. So if your passport is valid for more than a year, then the visa (if approved) will be issued till the petition expiry date.
