I94 date -- Visa or I797

Hello,

I'm planning for a vacation to India from Aug - Oct '12. My H1 Visa expires on Nov 2012.
I have new I797 with expiration date of Sep 2013.

My question is -- if i enter US on Oct '2012 will i get I94 expiration date based on I797 (sep 2013) or H1 Visa date (Nov 2012)?

I-94 is usually issued until the petition expiry date.

If it is issued for a shorter duration by mistake. You can ask the officer firmly but politely to get it corrected then and there.
