Are previous visa approval papers required for H1 petition

I have L1B visa twice which expired in 2006 and 2010. Now i am about to apply for H1B. My company visa co-ordinator says that i need to submit I-129S of previous L1 visas even though they have expired. But I have lost those L1 petition docs & I-129S. Please suggest whether previous approvals are really really mandatory ? What are the alternatives in case of absence of previous I-129S ?

Your company should have copies. After all it is their petition not yours.

Thanks for the reply. Eventhough company has petition, they are aksing for I-129S which the VISA officer signs during approval interview and hands it back to applicant. Please sugget alternatives. My company VISA co-ordinator says i will be never be able to apply H1 !!!

I don't see how that is so important. It is good to have, but it is unlikely that they will deny the petition because of that.
