    LWP on H1B

    Are we allowed leave without pay when on H1b for FMLA related reasons? I have been advised 8 weeks of bed rest and my employer doesnt allow me more than 8 weeks of paid vacations but unlimited number of vacaions under FMLA category

    Do I get out of status and have issues in my next visa renewal?

    That is fine. Unpaid leave for a genuine reason is allowed, but make sure you document everything with Doctor's letters, Hospital bills etc.
