  • H1B stamping

    Hi,

I am currently working in US on H1B visa.

My Visa is getting expired in mid August 2012.

I am planning to get my H1B stamped from vancouver, Canada.

    I have couple of questions:

    1) Is the Canada visa issued based on US visa validity ?
    2) Even after my US visa expires, can I still go to Canada for stamping ?

    Thanks in advance!

    1) Is the Canada visa issued based on US visa validity ?
    >>> No.

    2) Even after my US visa expires, can I still go to Canada for stamping ?
    >>> Yes, if the Canadian visa remains valid at that time.

      Thanks shervin143 for the reply.

I have some more questions :

      1) First do I need to get Canada tourist visa & then I have to book the H1b stamping date in Canada or is it the other way around ?

      2) can you please provide me the detailed steps along with the order to successfully book the H1B stamping date along with Canada visa ?

      Thank you very much.

        >>> They are two independent processes. It doesn't matter which one you do first. But practically, what is the point in booking a visa interview in Canada without even knowing whether you will receive the Canadian visitors visa or not.

        2) can you please provide me the detailed steps along with the order to successfully book the H1B stamping date along with Canada visa ?
        >>> Visit a Canadian consulate or google for their consulate in U.S to get a Canadian visitors visa. Google for U.S Consulates in Canada and visit their website to read the procedure. Check the below link to get an idea of what might be needed to schedule the interview.
