    Hi,

I attended H1B Visa interivew recently with family and visa is approved.
i received my family passports stamped (H4) the very next day, but i didn't receive the principal applicants passport yet (that is mine)

what could be the reason, does any one have this kind of situation.

please guide me in this regards.

    thanks

Not all passsports are stamped and dispatched at the same time. It t akes about 2 weeks to get the passport via courier. Be patient for 2 weeks. There is no point in getting panic this early.

Please help clarifying my situation on H1-B

Please help clarifying my situation on H1-B

First, I would say that I am sorry as I am posting my question in someone elses thread. I am new to this and this is the first time so not sure how to create my own thread. My question is as follows:

Currently, I am on H1-B visa. However, things are not straight between me and my employer. I may get laid off in next couple of days. My H1-B is valid till Oct 2014. I also got my OPT approved last year which is going to expire by the end of 2012, However, my employer filed H1-B peition and got approval before my OPT was approved. In case if I get fired, what are my options in terms of maintaining my status? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Unless you find and employer who can file the H1B transfer before your last day with the current employer, there is no way to legally maintain your H1B status. The only option is to leave the country. However, any U.S employer can file a CAP exempt petition for your (even if you are outside U.S) and when it gets approved, you can enter U.S on the new employer H1B petition and the valid H1B visa in the passport (even if it has the old employer's name on it. No need to attend the visa interview again).

BTW, there is a blue button on the top left which reads "Post New Thread". That is what you will have to click to create a new thread.
