L1 B to H1

Hi all,

I have query regarding L1 to H1 conversion.

I'm currently in US with L1 B. I have applied H1 through a consulting firm and the status is in initial review status. please let me know if my L1 B will be valid if I'm not quitting current employer who processed L1 and H1 is effective from Oct, 2012.

After the H1 petition gets approved with change of status, you will have to join the H1 employer immediately from the effective date of that petition. If petition is not approved by Oct 1, you can continue with L1 employer until it gets approved.
