Hello,
Presently, I am on OPT Step Extension and my employer (a university) is ready to file an academic H1B for me. The only problem is due to all administrative delays the date of filing is getting very close to the end of my OPT. I would like to know if there is any buffer after the end of my OPT until which "adademic" H1B can be filed and am I eligible to work during that "no status" period. I believe this case is slightly different than cap gap, so I would like to get your expert opinion on this.
