Green Card for Nurses (I-485 ??)
Hello,
I am an Indian Nurse, My Employer already filed Immigration Petition (I-140) for me & it Approved -Priority Date is July 12 2006 (What its mean?.The visa will issue from consulate only after PD is current?). Now I received a form- DS -3032 (Choice of Agent). My Agent told me to Sign the form and send to National Visa Center.
As far as I understand the remaining process will be like this, NVC send request for the Visa fee, Once the fee is paid up and processed, NVC sends the request for the DS-230 forms of each family member .After the DS-230 forms are received and processed, NVC completes the processing of case and transfers to the respective U.S Embassy or Consulate. After the Embassy / Consulate receive file, they request the Department of State for a Visa number to be allotted. Once Visa number allotted, the Embassy/ Consulate will send the Interview letter with an Interview date. Attend the visa interview and if all the required documents are provided to them, permanent resident visa (Green Card) will be issued for me & my family (Correct me if I am wrong?? I think I can reach US within 06-10 months!!
I don’t understand what is “Adjustment of status” or form I-485??
I saw many immigration forum people talking about “I-485 still pending because of FBI background check not completed ”!!! .
Dear friends please tell me what’s the relationship between Green Card & Form I-485 or Adjustment of status?? Do I need to file I-485?? If yes when??
