I have some queries regarding green card and would highly appreciate your feedback on them.
    1. I along with my husband and child got visa for the US under the DV lottery category. We went to the US in October 2012 for processing our green card. I was lucky to receive my green card during our one month stay in the US but still awaiting the green card for your spouse and child. When we called the USIC during our stay in the US, the officer had said that we have to wait for 60 days and then get back to them if my spouse and child did not receive their green cards. It has been more than 60 days and still we have not received the green card nor any formal letter before receiving the green card.

We have now returned back to our native country as we still have to complete some formalities out here and might not be able to go back for another 6-10 months. Should I/my husband contact the USIC to check on the green card process? Will it act against if they found out that we are no longer in the US? We have been suggested by some of our family and friends in the US to email them instead so that they cannot find out where we are? Will it help?

    2. My second question is about our parents. After receiving the green card, what could be the possible way out for taking our parents to the US with us and keeping them with us? My mother has already got the US tourist visa but my in-laws have not applied for visa for the US yet. Under the tourist visa once my mom is in the US, could I file a petition for her (without gaining citizenship) as I am her only daughter and she is a widower?
