"Family Name on Box"
Is there a regulation that requires a family name to be on a mailbox for reciept of government documents?
The Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services is requiring my family to pay over $200 to resend an approval notice. They claim that according to Postal Regulation, we are at fault for not having our family name on the box it was allegedly delivered to. We never received the mail but are being forced to pay hundreds of dollars for them to resend the notice.
We live on base housing where there are no names on boxes and also use a PO Box with no name on it. I wish the BCIS would have told us about this regulation months ago and will try to appeal this $200 fee because it doesn't seem to make sense.
Please help clear this up if you can.
Thank you.
