I just became US Citizen few days ago on May-20. Citizenship process took longer time than expected.
In the meantime, I did make arrangement to travel to India on June-1.
But since I got my US Citizenship certificate recently, they took my Green card and now I have very limited time during which I can get my US possport & then Indian Visa.
Also I do not wish to cancel my trip(unless it is impossible), as I have to pay heavy cancellation charge.
In such scenarion, I have following two questions.
Q-1: Does anyone know that we can still visit to Indiabased on currently holding valid Indian passport?
Would there be any problem while coming back to US just based on USCIS issued Citizenship certificate since I do not have US passport?
Q-2: If it is not possible to visit to India now based on Indian passport(being US citizen), what is the fastest way to get Indian visa from Indian Consulate/Embassy??
Appreciate your input/feedback.
