This is a little involved but please bear with me as I need to know this information. My father is living with this woman for 9 years or so. She says she is here on a green card from Tunesia (?) She only works off the books and does not file taxes. My father wants to marry this woman but we have caught her in multiple lies (originally said she was from france, lied about her age etc) We are not even 100% sure of her real name as it has changed spelling over the year with letters added and deleted. Anyway if she is not here legally, meaning her green card has not been renewed would the marriage be legal? What recourse is there? IF she has a green card, I have never heard anything about her renewing it, and from what I have been reading any change of address needs to be reported immediately and I am pretty sure that has not been done either.

she sounds fishy! Your father needs to be careful. The marriage will be valid, but the real question is:"Is your father trying to get a green card through her?" If yes, then he may be denied a greencard if she's not a legal resident herself.
Yes, greencards need to be renewed, but sometimes it takes like 10 years before to renew them. But she sounds **** to me..I will be more cautious..
