green card processing for mother

Hello all,

I am currently working on a H1-B visa. My company is applying for my green card (currently in the labor certificate stage). I was told that under certain circumstances I can apply for a green card for my mother once my green card has been approved (without getting a US citizenship). Does anyone have any insights on whether this is possible and how to go about doing it? Also is it possible to apply for her (my mom's) green card while my green card is is still in process?
Any input will be highly appreciated.
