  • Recently married but wife still has 2 years of school work

    Hi,

I am a US citizen and recently got married in India. My wife still has 2 years left for her school work and can not come to US for an extended time. My question is should I apply for her green card right now or have her come on visitors visa until her school work is over. As there is a condition on maintaining the green card, I am not sure if she will be able to visit often enough.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Get your wife here for her Green Card, by petitioning her with the I-130 and processing her in India. After she is here and has her Green Card, apply for a Reentry Permit and she can then stay out of the U.S. up to two years.
