  • Proof of return

    Hi,

I'm a UK citizen, currently planning on marrying a US citizen and working in America for a year under a work visa (as she'll be in her final year of university). We'll then settle in the UK. Since I'll have just finished university (so not have a job in UK, a house or anything else "tying" me there), I'm a bit worried about the proof of return for getting admitted to the US under a work visa.

I intend to return to the UK, have lived there all my life (so have bank stuff, family etc. there). Anything e.g. residence for that year in the US will obviously end at the end of the year. As I don't have anything tying me to one country in particular, it'll seem like I could return to UK or stay in US depending on what I decide.

My question / what I'm looking for advice on is:
How big an issue is this / might I be refused entry when trying to enter the US (as they're not convinced I will leave / won't apply for adjustment of status)?
Does anyone have any advice / ways I could give more evidence I will return? - I can provide more info if necessary (although will have limited internet for next few days).

    Thanks
    Pete
