Hello everyone, I'm not sure where I should post this thread seeing as it's just a bunch of questions and doubts.
My girlfriend is a US Citizen and I live in the United Kingdom, where I work full time as a chef at a french restaurant chain (Cafe Rouge). We see each other very rarely save from Skype calls and I just came back from visiting her in North Carolina (Jacksonville) for a week. Needless to say we're both extremely sad for having to be separated yet again. She doesn't particularly like living in Jacksonville but her rare cancer condition limits her options right now, seeing as she needs to go on regular appointments at Chapel Hill.
I figured the best course of action would be moving to the US myself instead, at least for the time being. I never thought the processes required would be so complicated or lengthy, which is honestly depressing me.
I do have some relatives in the US (Massachussets) but none qualify as direct relatives (aunts and cousins only).
Can someone please tell me what the best course of action is? I just want to be there for her and help provide for her and her mum so they don't have to rely on welfare alone.
Thank you for your time.
