US born Baby and related Documentation

Hi Immihelp,

I am having some queries and needs to plan it in advance so that I can avoid last minute confusions.

1. I am on L1b and my wife is on L2.
2. My visa expired already and my I-94 is valid till 27th Sep-2016 and same with my wife.
3. We are expecting baby and the due date is mid May.
4. Is it okay having baby born in USA, what are the options?
5. What all documents needed to travel back in Sep with newly born baby?

Is this suggested option?

The baby will need a passport to leave the U.S., either U.S. passport or passport from his parents' country.
