I would like to know how to bring the money to the U.S. since my dad will be retiring and will get a large sum of money. He also want to convert the money to US dollars before going there. We need some advice about bringing money to the US any information will do. Thank you very much.

I hope my answer to you is not too late.
I discovered that Wells Fargo bank allows new immigrants to open a bank account while they are still in their home country, just before they move to the U.S.
The account is called "International Personal Banking". You can find it at the Wells Fargo website.
Your father can wire his money to the new U.S. bank account while he is still at his home country.
I will be helping my parents open that account once they get their green card approved.
