    Hi,

I have heard of a new process to get a green card. It will take only a few months from a H1B visa. Is it true ?
    How many months exactly ?
Thank you so much for your answers.

    It is not

    Hi,
I just talked to my lawyer...still it'll take 4-5 years.
I've been working here with H1B visa more than 5 years..and applied GreenCard almost 2 years ago...still no '45 days letter' from UCIS.
I made mistake to chose US not Germany...alot of my friends already got PR in Germany....after 5 years working in Germany...German gov. will offer you a permanent resident status...
    5 years ago....1$=1.27Euro...
I am almost 40 and still no status....all friends back in my country already have their own company.......I am a big looser !!!!!!!!!
We pay taxes, medicare, ssn..etc...but see how USCIS treated us.
If I don't get any letter until this the end of year.....I'll quit.....go to Canada...or Europe....or back to my country...eat all the foods that I miss..and start new company that become my current company competitor ( No..I'll not do that...my employer is very nice.....I'll just eat all the foods )
To bad for my employer....I am the only engineer than can do all jobs in my company. We hire some local engineers...but they quit...cannot sustain the pressures.
Well guys...I am frustated here.....I hope no effect in my work performance.

Totally understand your frustration dude. Here's what I would suggest. Since you are almost 40, you would be retiring in the next 20 years. Open an HSBC direct account today (http://www.hsbcdirect.com/1/2/1/) called 'retirement savings'. Every month deposit as much as you can within that account minimum 30% of your monthly paycheck. Never withdraw from this account. Call an insurance agent and ask him to cut down your insurance premium. Stop shopping for anything other than basic neccessities. Stop eating out, cook at home. Try to get back maximum tax returns in February, claim everything possible. Buy a retirement house in your home country. Struggle for the next few years so the years after that will be good for you and your family.
