  • Wife just got SSN, q's about credit history and whatnot

My wife just got her SSN, we filed AOS in December of last year. Now we (I) want her to get a credit card and stop using just cash. Some questions:

We want to build her credit history, what's the best way to do that?

Would adding her to my account hurt my credit, since she has no history?

Anyone know of a good "first time" credit card, or starter card?

We can do a 'secured' card if need be, I'd rather not, but we will if we must. Any opinions on that?

    Any comments/opinions in general?

I realize I should probably call a bank or Discover but they're not as much help as you think.

best way is to get the Secured Credit Card. If you add your wife in your account that will bring your credit history down for few months before it starts to build up again.

Get a secured credit card from bofa (even small amount like 1000 will create a good credit history by the end of year)

PS: I've sent a message to you can you please read that and reply back to me..
