My wife is from Canada. We met about 7 years ago and fell in love. She drove back and forth a couple of times across the border. From Canada you can do this for 6 months with no problems but you have to leave within the 6 months or you are overstaying your visa. Because we have no record of her going back and forth across the border immigration is assuming she overstayed her visa. In 2004 we applied for advanced parole. That is permision immigration gives before you leave the country so that you can legally get back in. The gave us the advanced parole.
Now they are saying she should be deported for 10 YEARS because she overstayed her visa and then applied for the advanced parole. Which they granted.
On June 27th we have to go before the Attorney General in Newark at which point they are probably going to put her in hand cuffs and deport her for 10 years becuase we have no proof that she went back and forth across the border, renewing her visa with each border crossing.
If you guys can think of anyway to help I can REALLY use it right now. If you know elected officials, news people, or anything else please let me know. I am desperate. My wife and I are good people.
