  • Greencard received but I140 Pending???

    Hi all,

It seems to be a very strange thing. Did anybody else have a similar experience?

I applied for I140/I485 concurrent processing at CSC. This got transferred to TSC. And about a month ago, my greencard was mailed to me. I have the physical greencard with me. However, the online status for my I140 shows as pending. The interesting thing also is that neither my lawyer nor my employer has received the I140 approval notice. However, we all have received the I485 approval notice and I have personally received the greencard.

I am not sure what kind of a situation I am in currently! If I call the 1-800 number they tell me that it is likely an administrative error but nobody is able to give me a proper answer. My lawyer is trying to get more info but this is such a pain!

Please let me know if anybody else has had a similar experience!

I dont find it odd......the GC is based on the I-485 approval not the I-140............when its family based ofr example an dthe I-130 and I485 are filed concuirrently, there is no approval notice sent for the I-130, only the I-485

Thanks curiousone! That is good to know. Then I am not sure why the lawyers said that it could be a matter of concern and needs to be investigated. And they also seemed to be surprised that we did not receive the approval of I140. I hope it is not as serious as they are claiming it to be.

I read your post again and perhaps its really an error.......but as to whether or not you should investigate it and hav eit taken back if its an error or just enjoy the benefit of it, I dont know. It may be an error if you didnt attend the I-485 interview and did all the other steps of the process........fingerprinting blah blah ........did you?

Well... I did all the steps needed for the I485 including the finger printing. I did not have an interview but my understanding is that in some cases interview is waived. Maybe because I applied for a concurrent processing they did not send it! No clue! Just hoping for the best!
