  • Violence against Woman Act

    Hi
I want to file for Violence against Woman Act because:
1-my husband got a prenutual agreement by force recently from me after 2.5 years of marriage which it says: i will have no rights for alimony ,retirement, his house, and other financial benefits from him .
2-he doesnt spend any money for me except health insurance.
    3-not any vacation plan
    4-not any guest
I am very deppressed and feel i am nothing.
are these enough for applying for Violence against Woman Act?
    please help me
    Thanks

Prenuptial agreement can only be made before marriage. And that protects the person's property etc. that existed before marriage.

Most of the states in US are community property states. That means that whatever both of you earned, purchased etc., both of you have equal rights to it. (Exceptions are only one person has the right to it if something was gained by means of inheritance, gifts etc.)

That agreement after 2.5 years of marriage is void and has no value.
And that agreement itself doesn't have enough grounds for Violation Against Woman Act.
