Nokia Mobile Phones

Hi Guys,
I will b leaving for US next week,
i want to know whether our nokia phones that work in India will work in USA or not?

I have a nokia 2300 its a basic phone, and i came to know that it wont b useful over there,

Can anyone help me on this,

if u like u r phone that much bring it on
u can get a sim card and phone with card for almost same price if u r using a pre paid plan
if u go for post paid plan dont bring a phone cos u will get nice phone with almost all plans,check in www.sprint.com www.tmobile.com www.verizon.com
