Hi,
We were married in Gujrat India. I do not have my original marriage certificate but I do have copy of the certificate which was given to us during registry but it has Duplicate stamped on the certificate. I need the original copy of the marriage certificate to change to my married name on the legal documents in USA. Gujrat India where I was registered is not willing to provide original copy of the marriage certificate. What should I do?
Also, my first and middle name is different, meaning some spelled out whole name and some USA legal documents have it shortened name due to space issues on applications. It was somehow overlooked by my parents. My naturalization paperwork also has whole name spelled out. The naturalization office made a mistake on my first and middle name due to space problems. So, due to the length of my name certain legal documents ommited part of my name and shortened it since it would not fit on their application. What should I do?
I want my new married name but I cannot obtain original copy of my marriage certificate so immigration/naturalzation will not allow me to change and my USA legal documents have different first and middle name listed. What do you suggest? I saw on your website I can have a affidivate. Please advise.
