Dear Sirs,
I am very frustrated and confused about the immigrant visa petition I filed for my husband. We married in Egypt and I filed the I-130 petition in September 2006, at the American Embassy in Cairo. Of course at the time I thought this was the correct way to do this. I have recently had to come back to my home in Texas because I could not wait any longer in Egypt, as it is to hard for me to live there. After all this time I have been told that my husbands case has been sent to Rome for approval. I do not have an I-797C receipt because I filed out of the US.
What I am wondering at this point is what can I do about checking the status of my petition and if there is ANYTHING I can do to get my husband here with me. I mean should I or can I change the type of petition? Or can we get a visitor visa? I really don't know anything about this, I just know I want my husband here and I need help.
